Bryan worked in the newspaper industry for several years before pursuing opportunities in higher education. He wrote for his hometown newspaper in Mount Airy, North Carolina, during college and covered business and economic development for the Lynchburg News & Advance for nearly four years. In his previous job, he co-wrote an admissions viewbook that won multiple CASE awards. He joined University of Lynchburg in 2015 as director of media relations and editor of University of Lynchburg Magazine. Outside of work, he enjoys renovating his 90+ year-old home; playing music; running, hiking, and biking for fitness; and spending time with his wife and three children.
A native of Altavista, Virginia, Katharine graduated summa cum laude from Radford University in 1999 with a B.F.A. with a concentration in graphic design. At 22, she was awarded Best in Show from the Roanoke Valley Advertising Federation for her design of the Macbeth theatre poster, done while she was a student worker in Radford’s Creative Services office. Since joining the LC staff in 2000, Katharine has earned 20 CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) and ADDY (American Advertising Federation) awards for her design work.
Katharine’s design passions include typography, the work of Saul Bass, anything letterpress or silkscreened, and the challenge of a 2-color job.
Chris joined the College Communications and Marketing staff in July 2006 as a graphic designer. Born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Chris graduated with a B.F.A. from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and worked as a designer at William Longhauser Design and Allemann Almquist & Jones, both in Philadelphia.
In recent years, Chris and his wife settled in Central Virginia, where Chris worked as a freelance designer until joining the University of Lynchburg staff.
