The University of Lynchburg is currently seeing applicants for the following positions:
Banquet & Event Lead – Part-time (with benefits)
Responsibilities: Provide service for banquets and events; act as a lead coordinator for many different types of events; oversee the set-up, delivery, service and breakdown of catered and special events; during events, serve, bartend, and conduct him/herself in a professional manner; and provide a high level of customer service. Assists in other areas of Dining Services on an on-call basis. Must have previous experience serving customers either in a restaurant or banquet setting. Requires one to four years education at the high school level or equivalent education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Event Banquet Server
This is a part-time and seasonal position. Hours will vary based on events throughout the year. Responsibilities include but not limited to: setup and/or takedown of catered events, service during these events, miscellaneous campus deliveries (including picnics, luncheons, etc.), and some off-campus catering. This position involves lifting (up to 25 lbs), standing for long periods of time, and climbing stairs. May be called upon to assist in other areas of Dining Services as needed.
Service Production Assistant
This is a part-time and seasonal position. Hours will vary based on events throughout the year. Responsibilities include providing support for food prep, line service, and utility areas. This is to include, but not limited to, cutting vegetables, prepping food pans, cooking, wiping tables, vacuuming, trash removal, and dish machine operation. May be called upon to assist in other areas of dining services as needed.
Line Server – Full-time
Responsible for the appearance and sanitation of the serving area, to include all serving lines. Replenishes menu items being served, providing proper communication to production staff to ensure freshness and to minimize food waste. Provides a high level of customer service and engages with customers to ensure their satisfaction.
Westover Room Cashier – Full-time
This position is for the morning shift and will be required to work some weekends/events. Summer work may be available in other areas. Responsibilities include preparing foods to order, stocking all products for sale, operating cash register, and maintaining the cleanliness of the serving/dining areas in the Westover Room restaurant/lounge. Must be accurate, dependable and able to handle a fast-paced environment. Prior restaurant and cashier experience preferred.
Westover Room Grill Cook – Part-time (with benefits)
Responsibilities include preparing foods to order, stocking product, operating cash register, & maintaining cleanliness. Position requires flexible hours, may include evenings & weekends. Summer work may be required in other areas. Prior restaurant & cashier experience preferred.
