The Department of Art in the School of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Lynchburg invites applications for a full-time one-year appointment (possible conversion to tenure-track) in Sculpture and 3D Design to begin Fall 2019. We seek an energetic colleague with a strong professional record and the ability to teach across the curriculum in areas of design fundamentals, sculpture, 3D design and printing. The ideal candidate will teach courses that utilize techniques that range from traditional to new/media digital experiences such as: installation based works, woodshop use, casting techniques, and Adobe Creative Suite software.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical and theoretical foundation, be versatile with studio process and digital techniques, as well as have an expansive approach that embraces the changing role of contemporary art. Intention of a candidates CAA Conference 2019 attendance should be noted on the application.
Applicants should have a Master of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture or a related field. A strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment is essential.
