The College of Health Sciences at the University of Lynchburg seeks to fill two tenure-track full-time positions in the Health Promotion & Master of Public Health programs beginning preferably July 1, 2019.
Successful applicants must be willing to strive for teaching excellence, to experiment with new pedagogies, and to collaborate with colleagues from diverse disciplines in support of the institution’s liberal arts mission. An earned terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) in Public Health, Health Promotion, Health Science or similar health-related field is required with CHES/MCHES certification desired. Candidates nearing completion of terminal degree (ABD status) will be considered if the degree can be conferred by mid-August. Selected candidates must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the University.
For one of the open positions, applicants with ability to teach biostatistics, program planning and evaluation, spirituality and health, and human diseases in addition to various undergraduate courses as needed will be preferred.
For the other opening, ability to teach in the following areas is preferred: needs assessment, program implementation/evaluation, medical terminology, and drugs and behavior management. Experience with coordinating/managing internships and interest/experience in serving as Department Chair for the Health Promotion Undergraduate degree is desired.
