The University of Lynchburg is accepting applications for a regular part-time administrative assistant in health and counseling services. This position contributes to fulfillment of all receptionist, administrative, and office management functions for counseling services, as well as receptionist responsibilities for health services, while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and confidentiality. The typical work schedule is 37.5 hours per week during the University’s fall and spring semesters (August-May) but may be adjusted occasionally to meet office needs.
An optimal candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, this position requires someone who is comfortable handling requests/problems and working with students regarding health issues confidentially. An optimal candidate must be people-orientated, able to work successfully with others, and able to respond effectively to urgent circumstances.
The work setting in an active office environment with frequent interruptions and interactions with others. Timely, efficient, and accurate completion of time-sensitive tasks is required daily. Frequent standing and walking required. High school diploma and computer skills training or experience are required.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the University.
