The University of Lynchburg is accepting applications for a full-time skilled Painter to join our team to paint the interior and exterior of structures, buildings, and other surfaces.
A skilled painter is knowledgeable in selecting, mixing, and applying the right material for the job. Responsibilities include coordinating all campus painting projects with various departments on campus. The painter has experience and knowledge in painting with various tools, various surfaces, and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. Reliability is a must as well as great attention to detail in completing duties. The goal is to deliver high-quality painting work as good painting has both practical and aesthetic benefits.
Working conditions include indoors and outdoors, sometimes during extreme weather conditions. Workspaces are not usually air-conditioned. Work requirements involve lifting or otherwise moving materials weighing 50 pounds. Tasks require bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus. Tasks require the ability to stand or walk and continuously perform essential job functions.
A high school diploma is required and at least three years of professional painting experience required. Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. The selected candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the University.
