The University of Lynchburg is accepting applications for a full-time groundskeeper. Under the direction of the grounds supervisor, the primary duties include but are not limited to, mowing, seeding, fertilizing, sodding, installing landscaping, mulching, pruning, and snow removal. The successful candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs. and perform general grounds maintenance tasks of a standardized nature using a variety of hand tools and motorized equipment. Inclement or hazardous weather cleanup is required as directed by the grounds supervisor and director.
Qualifications:
- One to three years experience in grounds-related services.
- Knowledge, training, and experience in grounds-keeping, gardening and landscaping techniques preferred.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license is required.
- Pesticide certification is preferred.
- Trash truck experience is preferred.
