The University of Lynchburg is accepting applications for a full-time Groundskeeper. Under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor, the primary duties include but are not limited to, mowing, seeding, fertilizing, sodding, installing landscaping, mulching, pruning and snow removal. The successful candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs. and perform general grounds maintenance tasks of a standardized nature using a variety of hand tools and motorized equipment. Inclement or hazardous weather cleanup is required as directed by the Grounds Supervisor and Director.
Qualifications: One to three years experience in grounds-related services. Knowledge, training, and experience in groundskeeping, gardening and landscaping techniques preferred. Valid Virginia driver’s license is required and pesticide certification is preferred. The selected candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the University.
