The University of Lynchburg is seeking a graphic designer with formal training and two years of related professional experience to join our communications and marketing team on a full-time, temporary basis, beginning immediately and working through mid-March, 2021.
About the Position
The graphic designer reports to the Vice President for Communications and Marketing and will work on a variety of marketing and communications projects. The work is varied and deadline-driven, and each day will be a little different — from initial concept meetings, to hands-on design work, to coordinating with editors, photographers, and writers.
The optimal candidate will be someone with a strong design sensibility for print materials, great layout, typography, and color skills. This individual must also be well organized and detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced and deadline-driven atmosphere. He/she must also be able to collaborate with a variety of colleagues from around the institution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Candidates with a BFA are preferred, primary requirements are a design-related undergraduate degree, proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, and two years of relevant professional experience. Higher education experience is a plus.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the University.
