University of Lynchburg in Virginia seeks a highly-motivated and energetic leader with a proven record of success in fostering and supporting student achievement, retention and academic advising. The Executive Director of the Academic Achievement Center will advance the university’s strategic goal to increase student achievement and retention by contributing significantly to the enhancement of a campus already known for being student centered. The Executive Director reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and serves as the university’s chief retention officer. The Executive Director oversees support and advising for first-year, second-year, transfer, commuter, non-traditional age students, our student referral system, disability services, academic tutoring and support services and programs, all of which are essential to student achievement and success at University of Lynchburg. This individual will also promote partnerships with faculty, student development, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, and Financial Aid. The Executive Director will be a part of a team of dynamic professionals and a university community who provide students with a transformative experience.
Qualifications: Master’s degree, with 7-10 years of experience in academic advising, academic support services, and retention at the university level. Effective leadership, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills. Knowledge of ADA preferred.
