The University of Lynchburg is currently seeking candidates for the Director of Maintenance for its physical plant. This position is responsible for the operation of the University’s heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and other mechanical systems, and the University’s buildings maintenance area. Additionally, this position prioritizes, schedules, and supervises work performed by heating, utilities and buildings maintenance personnel. Assists outside contractors as needed.
Work requirements involve lifting or otherwise moving materials weighing 75 pounds. High school diploma or equivalent education is preferred. Current certification such as a Universal Technician and/or other HVAC certifications preferred but not required. Must have current valid driver’s license and personal transportation for on-call service. Computer literacy with Building Automation Systems (BAS) preferred. Selected candidate must successfully pass a background check.
