The Office of the Registrar at the University of Lynchburg is accepting applications for a full- time Assistant Registrar.
Responsibilities include working with students, faculty, and staff as primary point of contact for the processing of course registrations and maintenance of academic records; conducting degree audits and communicating to students and advisors about status of degree completion; analyzing transcripts for transfer credits; collaborating with various offices to enhance the transfer student experience; testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of information system issues; and maintaining the security of student records in accordance with FERPA guidelines.
Candidates must demonstrate an attention to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work well with multiple constituents across departments. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years working in a position with progressive responsibility, preferably within a registrar’s office, working directly with students, faculty, and staff. Preference will be given to candidates with proven proficiency in using student information systems and registration software. Educational attainment at the bachelor-level is preferred but an associate-level with extensive experience will be considered. The selected candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the University.
