The Department of English within the School of Humanities at University of Lynchburg invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor on a three-year contract to begin August 2020 with possibility of conversion to a tenure track position. The successful candidate will have a completed PhD at time of appointment and will be able to teach courses in 19th century British Literature as well as introductory literature and composition courses. Ability to teach a course in Children’s Literature, the English Novel, or Digital Humanities is welcome.
In addition to a 4/4 teaching load, the position will include participation in service to the wider campus. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate successful classroom teaching and scholarly work or show signs of promise for scholarly contribution appropriate for early-career academics. Candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the University.
