Power is on in the new residence hall and according to Kristen Cooper, director of housing and residence life, work is on schedule for students residing in the new residence hall to move in August 26 and 27.
“Power is on in the building and the elevators are being completed,” Cooper said last week, adding that the site supervisor with Jamerson-Lewis Construction said “the building would be 98% completed in two weeks.”
Work has started on curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and parking areas, and furniture will be delivered during the first two weeks of August. “We are expected to take ownership on August 19,” Cooper said.
“Students approved to arrive prior to that date will be placed elsewhere, temporarily. Students scheduled to arrive post-August 19 will hopefully be able to move directly into their space in the new residence hall. They will follow the standard move-in dates for all returning students.”
