Students taking chemistry at Lynchburg College better be nice to Dr. Priscilla Gannicott, who just won a gold medal in karate at the Coventry Commonwealth Games in Roanoke.
Dr. Gannicott, associate professor of chemistry, won a gold medal in kata (forms) in the women’s senior advanced division for women over 41. She also has two sons, who brought home some gold. Trevor Gannicott, 9, won a gold medal in kata (forms) and silver medal in sparring (9-10 advanced division). Brandon Gannicott, 16, won a gold medal in sparring (15-17 intermediate division).
The Gannicotts train at the Mountain Eagle Lodge in Appomattox with Grand Master Jeff Lewis and Master Garrett Johnson. They represented OCUSA (Order of Combat USA) at the karate tournament on July 21.
