Barker earns state Player of the Year honors after scoring 82 goals and dishing out nine assists for 91 points on the season. Hathorn, who is set to become the school’s new athletic director in July, earned VaSID Coach of the Year honors. She finished her final season on the sidelines with a 15-4 record and the team’s fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The final major honor, the Rookie of the Year, goes to Lynchburg attack Kathryn Ollice (pictured left - West Chester, PA/West Chester). Ollice earned second team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honors earlier this spring for the Hornets after scoring 49 points on 40 goals and nine assists. Senior defender Nichole Johnson (Pasadena, MD/Northeast) and junior attack Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) each received second-team all-state accolades. Johnston recently earned second-team All-Chesapeake Region and first-team All-ODAC honors. She led the team with 29 caused turnovers and was second with 59 ground balls. Locher broke single-season school records in 2007 with 36 assists and 83 points, while also netting 47 goals en route to second-team all-conference honors. ### |
