Lynchburg College’s Andy Rollins (Ooltewah, TN/McCallie) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year.

Rollins, a senior, also earned All-American honors at the 2007 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Nationals, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He took seventh place in the pole vault, clearing 15’9 1/4" to capture All-American accolades for the first time in his career.

Rollins won the pole vault competition at the ODAC Outdoor Championships, helping the Hornets to their 10th-straight team title.

Lynchburg College’s Brittany Allsop (Milford, CT/Johnathan Law) has been named to the 2007 CoSIDA Academic All-American College Division Softball Team.

Allsop earned a slot on the third-team after taking home first-team All-District CoSIDA Honors. The sophomore center fielder led Lynchburg in triples and finished second on the team with a .390 batting average and 42 runs scored. She was a second-team All-ODAC honoree and was included on the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and All-Regional Tournament teams. Allsop has a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average, and majors in mathematics.

Hornet junior Mary Mohay (Fairfax, VA/Robinson) has been named to the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) first-team All-District Academic squad for Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country.

Mohay won the pole vault competition at both the Old Dominion Athletic Conference indoor and outdoor track & field championship meets this year. She was also named the conference Women’s Track & Field Scholar Athlete of the Year for both seasons.

Mohay has a 3.91 cumulative GPA and majors in exercise physiology. First-team all-district honorees, including Mohay, are eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-American consideration, announced later this month.
