Two Lynchburg College student-athletes have earned spots on the 2007 CoSIDA Academic All-District III College Division Softball Team.

Sophomore outfielder Brittany Allsop (Milford, CT/Johnathan Law) was named to the first-team squad. She is second on the team with a .390 batting average and 42 runs scored and lead Lynchburg in triples. She was a second-team All-ODAC honoree and was included on the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and All-Regional Tournament teams. Allsop has a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average and is a mathematics major.

Senior outfielder Caroline Cubbage (Bridgewater, VA/Turner Ashby) was named to the second team. She was named the ODAC Player of the Year Award and hit .488 with 61 runs and 116 total bases (12 doubles and 15 home runs) to lead the conference. Cubbage has walked a school-record 54 times to post a .654 on-base percentage, and has a slugging mark of .959. She has a 3.27 grade-point average and majors in sports management.

First-team all-district honorees, including Allsop, are eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-American consideration, announced later this month.
