2008-09: Had a solid season for the Hornets . . . one of the best sprinters in the league as a sophomore . . . was in LC's top three in four sprints this season . . . ran a 6.68 in the ODAC Championships in the 55, taking sixth . . . won the 400 meter dash at the ODAC meet, running a 50.27 . . . helped LC to a first place finish in the 4x400 meter relay.
2007-08: Qualified for nationals in the 400 meters in both the indoor and ourdoor seasons. Outdoor: helped run a team-best 41.43 in the 4x100 meter relay...posted times of 11.31 in the 100 meter dash and team-bests 21.72 in the 200 meters and 47.66 in the 400 meters. Indoor: Led the team in the 200 and 400 meters with a times of 22.45 and 49.41.
2006-07: An instant sensation on the team in just his first season. Outdoor: Had the top times on the team in the 200 meters (22.19) and 400 meters (48.6) while also placing second on the squad in the 100 meters at 11.26. Indoor: Led the team in the 200 meters (22.45) and 400 Meters (49.41).
Before LC: Hilltoppers were the district and regional champions in 2006.
Personal: Son of Cary and Sheral Word . . . has one brother and three sisters . . . chemistry major.
