Hornets Defeat Marymount 19-8 in Men’s Lax

ARLINGTON, VA – The 12th-ranked Lynchburg College men’s lacrosse team defeated non-conference foe Marymount University 19-8 Tuesday evening in a game played at Wakefield High School. The contest, slated to begin at 7:30 p.m., didn’t get underway until 9 p.m. due to a scheduling conflict.

Senior Brian McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) paced the Hornet offensive attack with five goals and an assist, while Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) found the back of the net four times. Stephen Weis (St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers) tallied two goals and two assists, and Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) and Austin Jeter (Coppell, TX/Episcopal) each netted two goals. Kyle McGuire (Burke, VA/Robinson) contributed with a goal and four assists and Johnny Black (Timonium, MD/St. Paul’s) had a goal and an assist.

D.J. Tayman scored four times for Marymount (5-11).

Lynchburg (11-3) travels to Washington & Lee University Saturday for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest at 7 p.m.
