Lynchburg Men’s Lax Defeats Randolph-Macon 11-3

ASHLAND, VA – The eighth-ranked Lynchburg College men’s lacrosse team scored the first nine goals of the game Saturday and cruised to an 11-3 win at Randolph-Macon College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

Five different Hornets scored in the first period and LC held advantages of 7-0 and 9-0 after the second and third periods, respectively. Junior Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) posted three goals and three assists, while Johnny Black (Timonium, MD/ St. Paul’s) had two scores. Stephen Weis (St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers) had a goal and an assist, and Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield), Austin Jeter (Coppell, TX/Episcopal), Brian McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson), Kevin Donahue (Ipswich, MA/Tabor Academy) and Jeff Kauffman (Timonium, MD/ Loyola Blakefield) each scored. Garrett Curran (Hull, MA/Tabor Academy) made 12 saves in net.

Rich Wilkens had two goals for Randolph-Macon (6-5/1-2 ODAC). Lynchburg out shot R-MC 47-31, but the Yellow Jackets controlled 11 of the contest’s 18 face-offs.

The Hornets (9-2/3-1 ODAC) host Greensboro College Wednesday at 7 p.m. in non-conference action.
