Randolph-Macon Downs LC Women’s Lax 17-6

ASHLAND, VA –The Randolph-Macon College women’s lacrosse team, behind four goals and two assists each from Traci Phipps and Lacy Phelps, defeated Lynchburg College 17-6 Thursday in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest.

The Yellow Jackets opened a 10-2 halftime lead and never looked back, despite four scores from Hornet sophomore Deana Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown). Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) had a goal and two assists while Sarah Rahl (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk) posted the Hornets’ other goal.

Lindsay Schabert made 11 saves for Randolph-Macon (8-4/5-2 ODAC).

The Hornets (6-7/4-3 ODAC) host Frostburg State Sunday at 1 p.m.
