Hornet Track Competes at North Carolina A&T
GREENSBORO, NC – The Lynchburg College outdoor track team competed Saturday at North Carolina A&T.
The Hornet 4x100 meter relay team of J.J. Johnson (Lynchburg, VA/Amherst County), Richard Noles (Chesterfield, VA/Manchester), Chris Martin (Roanoke, VA/Patrick Henry) and Will Tolbert (Missouri City, TX/Hightower) ran a 43.44 and Earl Graves (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) finished the 800 meters in 2:03. Chris Florio (Midland, VA/Colonial Forge) threw 150 feet in the javelin while Justin Hazelrigg (Bedford, VA/Liberty) had a heave of 147’8" in the hammer throw.
Sarah Funderburke (Fredericksburg, VA/Courtland) ran a 26.70 in the 200 and Kyra Richardson (Midlothian, VA/Midlothian) finished in 27.99. Mary Mohay (Fairfax, VA/Robinson) won the pole vault with a leap of 10’6" and Heather Shaw (Alpine, NJ/Tenafly) cleared nine feet.
The Hornets host the LC Track Classic next Friday and Saturday.
