LC Women’s Lacrosse Wins 18-9 over Sweet Briar

LYNCHBURG, VA – Freshman Kathryn Ollice (West Chester, PA/West Chester) scored five goals as the Lynchburg College women’s lacrosse team defeated visiting Sweet Briar College 18-9 Friday evening in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest.

The Hornets opened a 10-3 edge at halftime and the Vixens could get no closer than seven the rest of the way. Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) posted three goals and six assists and Deana Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) contributed three goals with one assist. Tricia Clay (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac) had two scores and Shannon Smith (Marshall, VA/Osbourn Park) had a goal and an assist.

Julie Sellers scored four times for Sweet Briar (1-9/0-4 ODAC) and Megan Behrle added two goals.

The Hornets (6-6/4-2 ODAC) will travel to Randolph-Macon College Thursday at 4 p.m. for more ODAC action.
