Hornet Tennis Splits with Randolph-Macon

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men’s and women’s tennis teams split matches Thursday to Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foe Randolph-Macon college – the men winning 6-3 and the women falling 5-4.

Kristian Richardson (Trenton, NJ/The Hun School) won both of his matches, 6-7 (8-6), 6-4, 6-4 at #1 singles and 8-0 at #2 doubles with Jay Duimstra (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North). David O’Brien (Manassas, VA/Osbourn) won at #2 singles, Duimstra won at #3 and Daniel Civis (Forest, VA/Holy Cross) was victorious at #4. O’Brien and Civis picked up a win at #1 doubles.

Rachael Ferrara (Skillman, NJ/Notre Dame) won 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 at #1 singles for the LC women, while Elizabeth Eckert (Annandale, VA/Annandale) won her #4 singles and #3 doubles match – with Krysten Bishop (Big Rapid, MI/Big Rapids). Whitney Robinson (Mechanicsville, VA/Lee-Davis) won easily at #5 singles.

Both teams travel to Virginia Wesleyan College Friday for matches a t 1 p.m.
