Hornet Men’s Lacrosse Rolls to 18-5 Win at Guilford

GREENSBORO, NC – The sixth-ranked Lynchburg College men’s lacrosse team netted the first 11 goals of the game en route to a decisive 18-5 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win at Guilford Wednesday.

Sophomore attack Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) scored six times for the Hornets and Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) had two tallies and an assist. Stephen Weis (St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers) contributed with a goal and three assists and Brian McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) and Kyle Fortman (Gambrills, MD/Archbishop Spaulding) each had a goal and an assist.

Matt Meriweather and Colin Davis each scored twice for the Quakers (2-6/0-3 ODAC). Lynchburg out shot Guilford 53-27, but GC controlled 15 of the game’s 27 face-offs.

Lynchburg (8-1/2-1 ODAC) hosts top-ranked Salisbury University Saturday at 1 p.m. on Shellenberger Field.
