Roanoke Defeats LC Women’s Lax 10-6

LYNCHBURG, VA – Eight different Roanoke College women’s lacrosse players scored Tuesday evening in a 10-6 Maroon win at Lynchburg College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.

Roanoke led 6-4 at the half and the Maroons scored the first four goals of the second half, two by Brooks Laufman, to pull away.

Junior attack Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) paced Lynchburg with two goals and two assists, and Kathryn Ollice (West Chester, PA/West Chester) scored twice. Sarah Rahl (Kennebunk, ME/.Kennebunk) and Shannon Kennedy (Dumfries, VA/Forest Park) each netted a goal. Keeper Ji-Young Eun (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) made 14 saves for LC.

Kayla Moore had two scores for Roanoke (7-2/2-2 ODAC) and Chelsea Rankin added a goal and an assist.

The Hornets (5-6/3-2 ODAC) host the Vixens of Sweet Briar College Friday night at 7 p.m.
