GREENSBORO, NC – Jennifer Donah scored five times and the Greensboro College women’s lacrosse team netted two key second-half scores to outlast Lynchburg College 10-9 Friday afternoon in non-conference play.

The game was tied at seven at intermission and again at eight all with 15 minutes remaining in a defensive-minded second half. The Pride scored with 14 minutes left and again with seven minutes on the game clock to take a 10-8 lead, and a late Hornet score wasn’t enough.

Sophomore Deana Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) scored three times for LC, and Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) had a goal and three assists. Kaitlyn Johnston (Herndon, VA/Herndon) had a goal and an assist while Ji-Young Eun (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) made 16 stops in net.

Christine Herbet tallied two goals and two assists for Greensboro (8-3). The Pride outshot LC 33-27.

The Hornets (5-5) host the Maroons of Roanoke College Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
