Box Score

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College Hornets baseball team scored twice in the eighth to pull within three runs, but the game was called on account of darkness, leading to an 11-8 Methodist College victory. The game was halted for over an hour in the fifth inning due to rain and lightning.

Ronnie LaBrie (Vinton, VA/Staunton River) blasted a home run to lead the Hornets at the plate. LaBrie went 4-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. Mark Carlson (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) also had a fine day, going 3-for-4 with three runs, while Jon Crews (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) drove in three runs. Brian Halpin led the Monarchs at the plate, scoring three runs and accounting for five of the 15 Methodist hits.

The Hornets meet Randolph-Macon College in a double-header on Saturday, with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
