For immediate release – 3/22/2007 - #255 Lynchburg Tennis Drops Two Decisions To Guilford GREENSBORO, NC – The Lynchburg College women’s tennis team lost to Guilford College 6-3 on Wednesday, and the men’s tennis team lost 9-0. Rachel Ferrara (Skillman, NJ/Notre Dame) and Whitney Robinson (Mechanicsville, VA/Lee-Davis) defeated Caitlin Mayton and Hilary Routon 8-4 in a #2 doubles match, and Krysten Bishop (Big Rapids, MI/Big Rapids) and Elizabeth Eckert (Annandale, VA/Annandale) tagged together to defeat Lia Williams and Megan Fair 8-5 in a #3 doubles match. Robinson also won her #5 singles match by defeating Morgan Howard 6-1 and 7-5. On the men’s side, David O’Brien (Manassas, VA/Osbourn) and Daniel Civis (Forest, VA/Holy Cross) narrowly lost their #2 doubles match 8-5 against Ryo Kawai and Caleb Kimbrough. Both the men’s and women’s teams go on the road Friday, March 23, to take on the Bridgewater College Eagles in Bridgewater, VA, at 2 pm. ### |
