Ryan Holmes Named ODAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Year
SALEM, VA – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) coaches have selected Lynchburg College’s own Ryan Holmes (Glenn Allen, VA/JR Tucker) as the Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
The award is not to be confused with the ODAC Athlete of the Meet, which also went to a Hornet – Ricky Flynn (Gaithersburg, MD/Damascus) after LC won its 10th-straight ODAC Men’s Indoor title on February 24.
Holmes became a two-time All-American at the 2007 Division III Indoor Track & Field Nationals, hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He placed seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 46’6" – needing to finish in the top eight in the event to earn All-American status. He took seventh one year ago in the triple to win A-A accolades for the first time in 2006.
At the 2007 ODAC Meet, the senior won the 55-meter hurdles in 8.03 and the triple jump with a leap of 45’7" and took fourth in the high jump.
