For Immediate Release - 3/20/2007 - #251 BRIDGEWATER, VA - The Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team went on the road to defeat the Bridgewater College Eagles 14-11 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game Tuesday. Lynchburg was led by a potent 1-2 punch of Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) and Deanna Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown), who combined to post seven goals and six assists for 13 combined points. Locher scored four second-half goals and assisted three teammates, while Welsch found the back of the net three times and delivered three assists. Gina Davis (Aberdeen, MD/Edgewood) also tacked on two goals while Shannon Kennedy (Dumfries, VA/Forest Park) added two helpers. Bridgewater was led by Sarah Wade’s three goals and by Ashley Andrick and Lindsay Synder who each supplied two goals. Colleen Schwind recorded 10 saves in the net for the Eagles. Lynchburg goes to 4-3 on the season, 2-0 in the ODAC, while Bridgewater falls to 1-3 and 0-2 in the ODAC. Lynchburg will return to the field on Saturday, March 24 to take on the Virginia Wesleyan College Marlins in Virginia Beach at 3:30 p.m. ### |
