Hornet Track Opens Outdoor Season at Coastal Carolina

CONWAY, SC – The Lynchburg College men’s and women’s track and field teams opened their 2007 outdoor season Saturday at the Coastal Carolina University Shamrock Invitational.

Chris Word (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) ran a 49.76 in the 400-meter dash, followed by Earl Graves (Richmond, VA/Heritage) in 50.04. Brandon Edwards finished the 200-meter dash in 22.73 while Andy Rollins won the pole vault competition by clearing 15’4".

Danielle Garofalo (Boxford, MA/Masconomet) cleared 4’11" in the high jump and Kyra Richardson (Midlothian, VA/Midlothian) ran a 13.42 in the 100-meter dash to pace the Hornet women.

The Hornets host the Lynchburg Invitational next Saturday.
