Public Relations helps to publicize and promote events, activities, achievements, and honors that might be of interest to broadcast and print media. In addition, the staff responds to media inquiries and directs interview requests to the appropriate faculty/staff members or students.
Media Contacts
Reporters are asked to contact PR before contacting faculty/staff members or students directly; likewise, faculty/staff members or students are asked to contact the director of media relations to discuss stories of possible media interest. Please notify PR as soon as possible if you are contacted by a member of the media.
Event Promotion
Information for event promotion should be submitted to the director of media relations six weeks in advance of the desired media promotion date and should include speaker’s biographical information and a photograph.
Student News Releases
A staff of student workers writes and sends student achievement news releases to hometown newspapers.
