Dr. Jack Toms Named South Region Track Coach of the Year
Terre Haute, IN – Lynchburg College head men’s cross country and track and field coach Dr. Jack Toms received another award Thursday to add to his impressive collection of honors. For the 25th time in his 30-year career, he earned regional coach of the year honors – as he was selected as the 2006-07 South Region Men’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year.
Lynchburg won its 10th-straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference indoor men’s title on February 24 at Liberty University. The Hornets also have one individual competing this weekend at the Division III Indoor Track & Field Nationals, hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN. Senior Ryan Holmes (Glen Allen, VA/JR Tucker) looks to finish in the top eight in the triple jump competition Saturday to repeat as an All-American after placing seventh last year.
