Two Hornet Teams Ranked in NCAA Division III Top 20
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men’s lacrosse team and men’s indoor track and field team both earned spots this week in their respective top 20 coaches’ polls.
The LC lacrosse team moved up from eighth to sixth in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Poll (USILA) after a 17-8 win over Ohio Wesleyan University on Sunday. Lynchburg returns to action on Friday, March 9, against Ursinus College in San Diego, CA at 8 p.m.
The Hornet men’s indoor track and field team ranked at #14 this week in the United States Track & Field Coaches Association top 20. Lynchburg is less than two weeks removed from its 10th-straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference indoor men’s title.
The Hornets also have one individual competing this weekend at the Division III Indoor Track & Field Nationals, hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN. Senior Ryan Holmes (Glen Allen, VA/JR Tucker) looks to finish in the top eight in the triple jump competition Saturday to repeat as an All-American after placing seventh last year.
