For immediate release – 3/7/2007 - #222 Lynchburg Women’s Lacrosse Drops 11-9 Decision to ETown
ST CROIX, US. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Lynchburg College women’s lacrosse team was defeated 11-9 Wednesday by Elizabethtown College in its first game on a Spring Break Trip to St. Croix.
The Hornets trailed 5-2 at halftime, but rallied to draw to even at nine goals each with seven minutes left in the contest.
Sophomore Deana Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) led the Hornet offensive attack with four goals and one assist, while Kathryn Ollice (West Chester, PA/West Chester) added a goal and one assist. Shannon Smith (Marshall, VA/Osborn Park) contributed two assists and Ji-Young Eun (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) made 14 saves.
Lynchburg (2-1) will face the University of Mary Washington in St. Croix Friday at 9 a.m.
