Lynchburg Lacrosse Defeats Ohio Wesleyan 17-8

LYNCHBURG, VA – Eight different players found the back of the net for Lynchburg College to lead the men’s lacrosse team to a 17-8 non-conference victory over Ohio Wesleyan University Sunday.

LC started the game on a 4-0 run and went into the half with an 8-2 lead. Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) scored five goals and added an assist for six points, and Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) and Brian McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) each added three goals, McCulloch added three assists and Cranston delivered two helpers. Austin Jeter (Coppell, TX/Episcopal) scored two goals and added one assist, and Kyle McGuire (Burke, VA/Robinson) posted a goal and three assists. Garrett Curran (Hull, MA/Tabor Academy) allowed six goals in 56:34 and recorded 10 saves.

Ohio Wesleyan was led by Chris Eccles who scored three goals, and five other players scored a goal apiece. LC out shot OWU 47-29, while OWU committed 16 penalties and LC committed six.

LC goes to 2-0 on the season and OWU drops to 1-1. Lynchburg returns to action on Friday, March 9, against Ursinius College in San Diego, CA at 8 p.m.
