Lynchburg Women’s Lacrosse Rolls 19-4 at Averett

DANVILLE, VA – The Lynchburg College women’s lacrosse team scored the game’s first eight goals and rolled to a 19-4 win Thursday afternoon at Averett University.

Junior Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) scored three goals and added two assists, Deana Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) had three tallies and an assist and Gina Davis (Aberdeen, MD/Edgewood) also scored three times. Shannon Kennedy (Dumfries, VA/Forest Park) and Tricia Clay (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac) each found the back of the net twice and Elizabeth Moulden (Annapolis, MD/St. Mary’s) had two assists. Ji-Young Eun (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) made eight stops in net for the win.

Four different players scored one time each for Averett (0-1).

Lynchburg will face Elizabethtown College Wednesday at noon as part of the Hornets’ Spring Break trip to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
