Two Hornets Named ODAC Players of the Week

SALEM, VA – Two Lynchburg College student-athletes were named Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Players of the Week for the week of February 27.

Sophomore Tara Campbell (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County) was named the ODAC Softball Player of the Week. She powered Lynchburg to a doubleheader sweep over Meredith College in the Hornets’ only games of the season at that point. She homered in each game, and had an .800 on-base percentage with a 2.667 slugging percentage.

Sophomore D.W. Moore (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) was named the ODAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week. He has posted a 3-0 record and a 2.84 ERA early this year in just three appearances. The sophomore right-hander has allowed 15 hits and six walks while striking out 15 in 19 innings. Moore pitched 6.2 innings of scoreless relief at Greensboro on Feb. 10, earning the win with five strikeouts. He defeated Southern Virginia Feb. 17 and threw a complete-game four-hitter Saturday in a 2-1 win over Juniata.
