For immediate release – 2/14/2007 - #190 Hornets Ride Strong Second Half to 73-53 Win at R-MWC

LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College women’s basketball team used second half runs of 13-0 and 10-0 to propel the Hornets to a 73-53 victory at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College Wednesday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.
The contest was tied at 30 at half, and LC led 43-42 with 10:31 left. Senior center Caroline Wesley (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame) scored seven points in a 13-0 run to give Lynchburg a 14-point edge, and the Hornets put the game away with a 10-0 spurt a few minutes later.
Freshman Brittany Dahn (Glen Allen, VA/Deep Run) posted 18 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and two steals. Wesley finished with 18 points and eight rebounds, Dana Esposito (New Port Richie, FL/Holy Names) netted 14 points. Amy Terry (Dublin, VA/Pulaski County) had nine points, six rebounds and three assists.
Lianna Carrera had 16 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats (2-20/2-16 ODAC). Sara Rechnitzer added 14 points and six assists.
Lynchburg (7-16/7-11 ODAC) travel to Randolph-Macon College Friday for another ODAC contest at 7 p.m.
