Caroline Wesley Honored On Academic All-District Team

Caroline WesleyDELAWARE, OHIO – Lynchburg College senior center Caroline Wesley (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame) was named Thursday to the ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-District III Women’s Basketball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Wesley earned a spot on the first team a year after taking home second-team accolades. Members of the first-team, including Wesley, are eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-American ballot.

Wesley ranks in the top seven in seven Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) statistical categories, including second in rebounding (10.3 per game). She is fourth in scoring (14.3), fourth in field-goal shooting percentage (49.5%), seventh in blocked shots (23), first in offensive rebounding, third in defensive rebounding and is tied for first with 11 double doubles. She boasts a 3.93 cumulative grade-point average while majoring in athletic training.

Lynchburg (5-15/5-11 ODAC) travels to Hollins University Saturday for an ODAC game at 3 p.m. and returns home to face the Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin College Sunday on Senior Day. The program’s two seniors, including Wesley, will be honored before the 3 p.m. tip-off.
