The awards are given annually by the National Association of College and University Food Services. LC’s Dining Services have now won five awards since 2000 and fifteen awards overall since 1990.
The Westover, a grill and snack bar, won in the category, “Retail Sales — Single Stand-Alone Concept/Outlet” for small schools. The Westover is now competing against the gold medal winners for medium and large schools for the grand prize in this category. The winner will be announced at a luncheon on July 28, 2006 at the National NACUFS Conference held in Toronto, Canada. Last year the Westover won the bronze medal.
The Burton Dining Room received the silver in “Residence Hall Dining — Multiple Concepts/Outlets” for small schools. This is the second silver medal the Burton Dining Dining Room has won in the past three years: bronze in 2002, silver in 2004, and gold in 2005.
