For immediate release – 1/28/07 - #173 BRIDGEWATER, VA – The Bridgewater College men’s basketball team shot 30 percentage points higher from the floor than Lynchburg College Sunday afternoon – leading to an 83-62 Eagle win in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play. Bridgewater shot 67 percent from the field in the first half en route to a 30-20 halftime lead. BC led by double figures the entire second half and shot 63.3 percent for the game (31-49), compared to 33.3 percent (20-60) for the Hornets. Junior swingman Drew Norris (Richmond, VA/Steward School) scored a team-high 17 points for LC, hitting five of his nine attempts from behind the three-point arc. Kwame Safo (Vienna, VA/George C. Marshall) had 14 points and Peter Vasiliou (Chincoteague, VA/ Chincoteague) had eight points and a game-high nine rebounds. Danny Reed (Adamstown, MD/Tuscarora) tallied eight points and five boards. Jay Strotman had a game-high 20 points for Bridgewater (6-12/3-8 ODAC). Dominic Trawick had 19 points and a team-best eight caroms while Josh Fox had 13 points and six boards. Lynchburg (6-13/3-9 ODAC) travels to Randolph-Macon College Wednesday for another ODAC contest at 7 p.m. ### |
