Emory & Henry Outscores LC Men 136-107

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Emory & Henry College men’s basketball team forced 39 turnovers Wednesday evening en route to a 136-107 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Lynchburg College.

The Wasps opened an early 8-0 lead and held a 62-38 edge at halftime. E&H held at least a 24-point advantage the rest the way, behind 22 three-point baskets and 22 offensive rebounds.

Freshman forward Danny Reed (Adamstown, MD/Tuscarora) scored a team-high 25 points for LC on 12-of 19 shooting - and added five rebounds. Drew Norris (Richmond, VA/Steward School) had 13 points (11-14 from the foul line) and Peter Vasiliou (Chincoteague, VA/ Chincoteague) added 13 points and five rebounds. Steven Echols (Martinsville, VA/Carlisle) posted seven points and six assists and Sean Sutherland (Alexandria, VA/Commonwealth) finished with eight points.

Robert Hudson nailed eight three pointers to score a game-high 26 points in only 12 minutes for Emory & Henry (10-6/6-4 ODAC). Camillo Weinz had 19 points and five treys, Andrew Hart tallied 15 and Lance Reasbeck scored 13. Korey Townsend sank all 10 of his free-throw attempts and had 12 points, Josh Brown netted 11 points while Anthony Hairston distributed 12 assists.

Lynchburg (6-11/3-7 ODAC) travels to Eastern Mennonite University Saturday for another ODAC game at 7 p.m.
