Hornet Women Defeat Hollins 101-37

LYNCHBURG, VA – All 13 Lynchburg College players scored Tuesday night as the Hornet women’s basketball team defeated Hollins University 101-37 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.

Freshman Jessica Harris (Morehead, NC/Croatan) scored a game-high 17 points for Lynchburg, hitting seven of 11 shots and three of four from three-point range. Senior center Caroline Wesley (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame) posted 12 points and six rebounds in just 12 minutes of play. Freshman Tamara Snead (Richmond, VA/Henrico) had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and Loriann Garcia (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley) added 10 points.  Brittany Dahn (Glen Allen, VA/Deep Run), Dana Esposito (New Port Richie, FL/Holy Names), Chevonne Booker (Richmond, VA/Thomas Jefferson) and Jessie Bridge (Stuarts Draft, VA/Stuarts Draft) each had seven points.  The LC defense forced 36 turnovers.

Emily Long posted 14 points, a team-high nine rebounds and five blocked shots for Hollins (1-12/1-10 ODAC). Nicole Grant had 14 points and eight rebounds.

Lynchburg (5-11/5-7 ODAC) travels to Bridgewater College Friday evening for another ODAC game at 7 p.m.
