EMORY, VA – Freshman guard Kristina Darby (Tampa, FL/Holy Names) scored a career-high 32 points Sunday afternoon as the Lynchburg College women’s basketball team defeated Emory & Henry College 70-59 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match-up.

Darby made 13 of her 20 attempts from the floor and added six steals, five rebounds and three assists. Senior center Caroline Wesley (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame) posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds and freshman guard Dana Esposito (New Port Richie, FL/Holy Names) added 10 points.

Katherine Brandt tallied 23 points and 12 rebounds for Emory & Henry (7-9/3-8 ODAC). Lauren Habel had 10 points and seven caroms. The Hornet defense forced 29 turnovers and the Waps were just three of 20 (15%) from three-point range.

Lynchburg (4-11/4-7 ODAC) hosts Hollins University Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
