LC Women Trumps Guilford 55-41

GREENSBORO, NC – The Lynchburg women’s basketball team limited Guilford to just 17.2 percent (11-64) shooting from the floor in producing a 55-41 Old Dominion Athletic Conference win on Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets (3-11, 3-7 ODAC) jumped out to a 16-5 lead early on and entered the half with a 20-point lead (35-15) as the Quakers managed to hit just 2-of-26 (7.7%) from the floor in the first half.

LC was led by senior center Caroline Wesley (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame), who tallied 18 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks. Freshman forward Brittany Dahn (Glen Allen, VA/Deep Run) posted 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor, while freshman guard Amy Terry (Dublin, VA/Pulaski County) added 10 points.

Guilford (7-9, 6-5) was paced by Ann Seufer’s 11 points and five boards.

The Hornets return to action on Sunday as they travel to Emory & Henry for a 4 p.m. contest.
