Requirements........An earned bachelor's degree; acceptance and enrollment into a graduate program at Lynchburg College; prior experience in a field of student development; the ability to write and communicate effectively with all segments of the campus community; excellent organization and time-management skills; a student-centered approach; the desire to learn and grow.
Responsibilities.....This position has direct responsibility for the overall management of a residence hall and supervision of an Assistant Hall Director and staff of three to ten Resident Assistants. The Graduate Hall Director assists in policy enforcement, residence life training, participates in a rotating on-call schedule for the entire campus, aids in judicial sanctioning/hearings as necessary, and monitors the programming of his or her staff.
Remuneration.........On-campus housing; meal plan while campus is in session; tuition remission- nine graduate hours per semester; a competitive stipend based on a 20-hour work week; professional development opportunities.
Essential Duties:
1. Overall management of a residence hall;
2. Directly supervise Resident Assistants and one Assistant Hall Director;
3. Build community for the residents;
4. Serve on various committees within residence life;
5. Assist college community in maintaining community standards;
6. Monitor the programming efforts of the staff;
7. Help coordinate training efforts for the department;
8. Additional corollary responsibilities within department and Student Development.
