Holmes and Funderburke Earn ODAC Athlete of the Week Honors

SALEM, VA – Lynchburg College seniors Ryan Holmes (Glen Allen, VA/J.R. Tucker) and Sarah Funderburke (Fredericksburg, VA/Courtland) each earned Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors for the week of January 15.

Holmes provisionally qualified for national competition Friday as Lynchburg competed at the two-day Virginia Tech Invitational. He leaped 47’6 1/2" in the triple jump.

Funderburke recorded impressive times in three events over the weekend at Virginia Tech. She ran a 60.37 in the 400-meters, a personal best, finished the 500 meters in 1:21.99, and completed the 200-meter dash in 27.34.

The Hornets are back in action Friday and Saturday at Marietta College (OH).
