Three Lynchburg Players Earn All-State Men’s Soccer Honors
Chris Yeager Coach of the Year

LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg College had three men’s soccer players earn College Division All-State honors and head mentor Chris Yeager was announced as the state’s Coach of the Year Friday.

Yeager led LC to a 14-5-2 overall record and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title. The Hornets advanced into the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time since the 1982 season.

Senior defender Drew Jamison (New Castle, DE/Salesianum) earned a repeat nod to the first-team All-State squad. He was a critical figure in the Hornet defense this year that allowed just 15 goals in 21 matches. Jamison was first team All-State in 2005, All-South Region in 2005 and 2006, and was first-team All-ODAC in 2005 and 2006.

Junior forward Maurwyn Bowen (Gaithersburg, MD/Seneca Valley) earned a spot on the second team all-state squad. Bowen led the team with eight goals and tallied three assists this season en route to also being named to the All-ODAC first team and third-team All-South Region. Freshman defender Pat Brown (Williamsburg, VA/Christchurch) joins Bowen on the second-team, anchoring the defense along with Jamison. Brown was also named to the All-ODAC second team this season.
